I admit, I'm a little sad to report such news, but over the past couple of weeks it seemed to become inevitable. Personal lives, including family, work and other commitments, have made it extremely difficult for any of us at 49ers Observer to stay on top of our assigned tasks, especially considering our devotion to bringing you nothing but the most thoughtful, insightful material we possibly can. Rather than give our readers a less-than-satisfactory effort, I decided it would be best to discontinue the site altogether.
I want to thank all of the readers who came to form our small but fairly faithful following. You are who we were doing this for. And of course I have to thank my fellow writers, who took this site beyond what I even thought it could be when I started it on a whim five months ago.
I plan on leaving the site up, so you can still peruse our archives, if you wish. And you'll still find many of us still posting on the 49ersWebzone message boards. I hope you guys got something out of this site while it was in full swing. We certainly enjoyed bringing it to you.
Oh, and to catch up on what we've missed over the last few weeks, I'll leave you with this abbreviated rundown: Shaun Hill is great; Patrick Willis is better; Chris Weinke is awful; Mike Nolan is worse; John York is a moron; Scot McCloughan's pretty cool; Mike Nolan's not that bad, I guess; Cam, Cam, He's our Man; I suppose I'd settle for Martz; I want Briggs (or Suggs, or Berrian, or all of the above); Playoffs or bust in '08.
Till next time ...
